Next Steps for All Newly Admitted Students

1 Confirm Your Decision to Attend CSU

  • Log in to RAMweb by using your NetID
  • Select "Check your Application Status"
  • Go to "Tell Us Your Plans"
  • Accept your offer of admission

2 Set up Your NetID

Your electronic identity (NetID) is the username and password required to access RAMweb (student records) and Canvas (learning management system).

3 Check your CSU email account

When you create your NetID, you will also create your university email account. All communications from CSU will be sent to this address. Check your university email account often or forward your email to a preferred account.

4 Connect with your Advisor or Department

During your first appointment, your advisor will discuss your transfer credit evaluation, your academic path, and the timeframe for completing your degree.

5 See When You Can Register for courses

6 Review Tuition Information

When you register for a course, you are responsible for the cost of tuition and applicable course fees. Colorado residency is not a factor in determining online tuition rates and fees. Colorado State University reserves the right to change tuition rates without notice. Tuition rates are subject to change on an annual basis.

7 Connect with the Office of Financial Aid

Financial aid is available for online and distance students to cover the cost of tuition, fees, textbooks, and living expenses. The Office of Financial Aid has a dedicated team to assist students seeking their degree through CSU Online. 8 Complete the Sexual Assault Prevention Module in RAMweb

The Sexual Assault Prevention module will show in RAMweb in July (for Summer and Fall start students) and in December (for Spring start students). Learn more about the Sexual Assault Prevention course on the CSU Health Network website.

9 Know Your Options, Rights, and Responsibilities

The CSU General Catalog contains information about student rights, responsibilities, and University policies and procedures. Reviewing the table of contents will help you to become familiar with the information the catalog contains.

10 Purchase Textbooks After Registering

Required textbooks and other course materials are listed on the corresponding course page. You may also locate and purchase these materials online through the CSU Bookstore website.

Undergraduate Students

Specifics to Discuss with your Advisor:

  • Watch your email for information on undergraduate orientation
  • Review Your Official Transfer Credit Evaluation
    • The Registrar's Office will email you when your transfer credit evaluation is complete. You can view your evaluation in RAMweb.
    • Allow 30 business days from the date that you were admitted for your transcript to be evaluated; international transcripts may take slightly longer.
  • Discuss with your advisor if you need to take the Math Placement Tool or the Composition Re-Evaluation Essay Exam

Graduate Certificate and Degree Students

Specifics to Discuss with your Advisor or Department Contact:

  • Review Notice of Graduate Admission Letter
    • Your Notice of Graduate Admission letter was sent to you in the mail. Review this letter and submit any documentation that you are asked to provide. You may be restricted from course registration without this documentation.
    • If you wish to defer your admission to a later term, contact your department using the information provided in your Notice of Graduate Admission letter.
