Degree Overview

Prepare for a leadership position in education with our Master of Education and principal licensure program. Through your coursework, you will:

Requirements

On-site attendance is required to complete the program, with classes taking place in schools in Loveland, CO. You must complete 24 credits for the principal licensure only, or 33 credits for both the master's degree and principal licensure. Learn more about the degree requirements

How to Apply

Applicants may apply for either the principal licensure only, or both the principal licensure and master's degree program. Both options require a valid teaching license and at least three years of teaching experience. GRE scores are not required.

  • For the principal licensure only, a master's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • For both the licensure and master's degree program, a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution is required.

Thompson School District in Loveland, CO. On-campus attendance is required to complete this program.

Total credits

– 24 credits for the principal licensure (This option is only for those who have previously earned a master's degree.)
– 33 credits for the M.Ed. and principal licensure

$459 per credit (financial aid available)

Time frame

Program can be completed in one year. Summer courses are required to complete this program. As a cohort program, the same group of students begins, proceeds through, and completes the program together.

This program is designed for two different audiences:

Individuals who have a master's degree and are only seeking a principal license.
OR
Individuals seeking a master's degree in Educational Leadership, Renewal, and Change as well as a principal license.

What you will earn

You will earn the same regionally-accredited Colorado State University degree that a student on the Fort Collins campus is awarded. Your diploma and transcript are identical to those awarded to on-campus students.
