How to Apply

Minimum Admission Requirements

To apply, you should have the following:

  • At least 60 semester hours of transferable college credit.
    Although this program works particularly well for students who have completed an associate's degree with an emphasis in agriculture, it is not required for admittance into this program.
  • 2.0 cumulative GPA (2.5 GPA preferred) from all previously completed coursework
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completed CSU's admission requirement in mathematics through one of the following four options:
    • Transferable mathematics course (e.g., college algebra) with a grade of "C-" or higher.
    • Intermediate algebra course with a grade of "B-" or higher.
    • Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II with grades of "C" or higher while in high school.
    • Successful results on the CSU Mathematics Placement Exam (MPE).

  1. Contact Colorado State University OnlinePlus as soon as possible to provide your most current contact information, including:
    • Full name
    • Maiden name if applicable
    • Current phone number(s)
    • Mailing and email addresses
    • Date of birth
    • Degree program of interest
    • Intended start semester (Fall-August, Spring-January, Summer-May)
  2. Prior transcripts are evaluated to determine academic status in relation to satisfying degree program requirements. Download the check sheet for more information. You are encouraged to complete any outstanding general education courses and lower-division prerequisites as you pursue formal admission to Colorado State University. You are allowed to repeat courses if necessary.
    • Send transcript(s), official or unofficial to Frances Betts at Colorado State University OnlinePlus. Include a transcript from EVERY college/university that you have attended.

    • Colorado State University OnlinePlus will contact you directly once your Tentative Transfer Evaluation has been completed to schedule a phone advising appointment.
  3. Complete your advising appointment, during which you will discuss your plan of study and current placement in the program.
  4. Apply for admission to the University. Submit your application materials to the admissions office to be considered for admission to Colorado State University.
    • Select "Agricultural Business – Distance" (transfer students only) when choosing the program of study. Program code: AGBU-DD-BS
    • A list of required materials can be found on the undergraduate admission page.
    • Deadlines: Fall semester deadline – June 1, Spring semester deadline – November 1
  5. Once admitted to the program, contact James Pritchett to verify your first semester's courses.

If you wish to apply for federal financial aid, please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Additional financial aid information is also available.

If you miss the application deadline, you may still register for courses to begin your program of study as a non-degree student. Students seeking federal financial aid must be admitted prior to enrolling.

Application Deadlines

Applications for admission are available for the fall and spring semesters. Summer admission is not available. Note: Online applications must be submitted before 5 p.m. (MT) on the deadline date.

You should plan to begin your transfer process no later than one month before the application deadline.

Fall Semester June 1 - After this date (but no later than July 1), completed applications are considered on a space-available basis.

Delivery

Online. On-campus attendance is not required to complete this program.

Time frame

The program duration will vary based on your learning style, intensity of study, previous coursework, and career objectives. Summer courses are not required although courses are available during summer.

Generally, individual courses are 16 weeks in Fall and Spring and vary in length in Summer. See each course page for details.

What you will earn

You will earn the same regionally-accredited Colorado State University degree that a student on the Fort Collins campus is awarded. Your diploma and transcript are identical to those awarded to on-campus students.
