Kurt Jones

Kurt Jones

Kurt Jones has been at Colorado State University Extension for almost 30 years. He has taught classes in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Beekeeping, and 4-H Youth Development throughout his career. He conducted a local Colorado Building Farmers program to teach business planning skills, started a local Master Gardener program, and a local Colorado Energy Master’s program. He also started the Colorado Beekeeper Mentorship Program in 2018. He has completed the Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master Level Beekeeping programs at the University of Montana. He is a previous recipient of the Extension Beekeeper Award from the American Association of Professional Apiculturists and has received numerous service and teaching awards from National Extension associations. Kurt received his Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Science, minor in agriculture economics, and Master of Agriculture degree in Extension Education from Colorado State University.



Irene Shonle

Irene Shonle

Irene Shonle Ph.D. has worked for CSU Extension since 2002 and is currently the Extension Faculty for Horticulture with Colorado State University Extension in El Paso County. She has worked extensively with helping people garden in challenging areas, with forestry and fire issues, and with native plants, pollinators and habitat creation. Previously, she served as the Director and Natural Resources/Horticulture Agent for almost 20 years in Gilpin County, a high elevation mountain community in Colorado. She has PhD in Ecology from the University of Chicago.



Micaela Truslove

Micaela Truslove

Micaela Truslove is the Commercial Horticulture Specialist for Colorado State University Extension in Boulder County. She holds an MS in Forest Sciences and an MA in Sociology with an emphasis in environmental sociology from Colorado State University and has over 10 years’ experience working in landscape horticulture, urban forestry, and urban agriculture along the Front Range. Micaela is passionate about connecting people and landscapes through education, outreach, and community engagement.
