Agricultural Extension Education
Master of Agriculture (M.Agr.) in Agricultural Sciences or Master of Agricultural Extension Education (MAEE)
What Our Students Say
I really enjoyed the flexibility of the program. I didnt grow up in an ag environment and through this program I discovered my passion for this lifestyle.

I loved the chance to continue my education at CSU. The Master of Ag is so broad that I can apply to many positions in the ag sector and outside of it and still be considered very well qualified for that position. In my case (at this point in my career), the Master of Ag degree will increase my salary and the classes bulk up my tool box for classroom management and content knowledge. I am very pleased with the Master of Ag program and feel very fortunate to have been able to get my ducks in a row and graduate this spring.

The two adult education courses I took were terrific. The material made me think hard, and both my classmates and the professor, Dr. Kaiser, were very engaged. I really felt that I had gained significant knowledge and insight at the end of each semester.
I have another master's degree, but began this coursework to enhance my knowledge of Ag/natural resources while working as a speech writer at USDA. I sincerely feel I got more than my money's worth in that regard. People often commented that I had broader knowledge and understanding of key issues than many people who had worked there for years, and I attribute that to this coursework.
I was a student who wasn’t convinced I would like (or actually stick to) distance education, but I have fallen in love with the flexibility, the diversity and wide-ranging experience of my classmates, and the support from Dr. Lamm and the [CSU OnlinePlus] staff.

I value very highly having the opportunity to be able to participate in this program, so well tailored to my job, and from across the state and on my own time. It was difficult at times to stay motivated and it took longer than I anticipated but I'm grateful for this opportunity.
– Susan Rose
You have facilitated a significant program unfolding approximately 1,800 miles from your offices; that is a testimonial to the effectiveness of distance learning.
– Jim Hilleary
The best thing about the distance education courses is that you can learn at your own pace. I like to dig in and get a class done quickly, and distance education allowed me to take things faster than I would have had to in a classroom setting.

CSU's distance program allowed flexibility, not only from a scheduling standpoint, but also from a curriculum standpoint. The variety of courses from which I could fulfill my graduation requirements allowed me to deepen my knowledge in areas that pertained to my specific career goals. The coursework was relevant and interesting, allowing me to work within my own community to increase my skills and knowledge. As a result of this community work, I have developed invaluable business relationships, some of which have led to employment offers.
– Agricultural Extension Graduate
CSU's distance program has allowed me to fulfill a lifelong goal of obtaining my master's degree. It has opened up new career possibilities and deepened my knowledge of agricultural education. This program provided all the benefits of residential college programs without many of the restrictions.
– Agricultural Extension Graduate
I feel the Master of Agriculture program is an excellent program to provide an advanced educational degree for students in the agricultural area. The program allows the flexibility to study areas of interest, yet challenges you to expand your horizons. Great job, great program!
– Brenda Kwang, 4-H Agent in Douglas County
Working for CSU as a county extension agent, I was interested in learning more about the land grant university extension system, as well as broadening my knowledge base relative to Colorado agricultural issues. The CSU Master of Agriculture program helped me become a better extension professional by providing me with current knowledge and skills that I could immediately apply to my work. It also helped me create new partnerships in my community, since several of the courses required working collaboratively with local professionals in weed and pest management, natural resource management, and county government.
