LB 386E - Practicum: Arts Production

  • 1 - 3 credits
This one (1) credit course is designed to help students develop the skills necessary to produce and participate in live mobile multimedia productions (additional credit hours may be available based on approval by the faculty coordinator). This group, known as RAMProductions, or RAMP, and a new CSU streaming service called Ram+, will produce programs featuring various CSU arts, entertainment, sports and academic activities. In addition to the planning, set-up, and live event production, there will also be some post-production editing .

Steve Weiss is a Master Instructor and the Special Projects Coordinator in the Journalism and Media Communication department at CSU with 25+ years of experience as a television reporter, host and producer at various television markets including Denver, and he has worked on programs for ESPN, FOX Sports, Outdoor Channel and PBS.  He has won more than 30 national and regional awards for news and marketing presentations including an Emmy nomination, Associated Press, United Press International, National Press Photographer’s Association, PRSA, BMA and 15 Telly Awards recognizing excellence in corporate and cable television production.

Weiss teaches classes in video production, writing, and corporate multimedia.  He also produces documentary programs for the Colorado Film Commission and Denver area PBS television stations.
