Certificate Overview

Learn the principles of residential interiors and design in this three-course series. Gain functional knowledge to evaluate:

  • Residential design
  • Floor plans
  • Furniture arrangements

  • Use of color
  • Lighting design
  • Elements and principles of design as applied to interiors

This combination of formal education and functional knowledge prepares you for career advancement in a range of fields that relate to residential interiors, including family and consumer science education, real estate, and interior design. You may also wish to utilize the knowledge gained to explore ideas for your own home.

Curriculum

The Residential Interiors Certificate requires successful completion of three courses (9 credits total) with a C or better.

Required Courses

Admission to the University is not required to earn the Certificate of Completion in Residential Interiors. You can register for any course in the certificate program as long as you meet the course prerequisites. Prior CSU coursework can be applied toward this certificate, though transfer courses are not accepted.
