Welcome from the Associate Provost

Hunt Lambert, Associate ProvostColorado State University's record of success is long and storied. From its roots as a public land-grant university with an outreach and engagement mission, through its critical role in agriculture and extension, to its arrival as a Carnegie Doctoral/Research University-Extensive with more than $300 million of annual research, CSU has consistently produced technology and talent that advances knowledge, society and economies. So where does a great university like CSU go next?

By embracing the technology, teaching methods and content made feasible by personal electronics and the Internet, the great universities of the world can now seriously embrace loosening the tie of a physical campus without loosening the tie of high quality and public access. Through our new positioning as OnlinePlus, we have embraced this challenge as our core mission. With our online and distance credit programs now serving over 7,000 students each year, we are committed to bring degree programs to market quickly and without sacrifice. OnlinePlus is meant to communicate all these values.

OnlinePlus's role is to understand the needs of students who choose not to come to campus, match those needs to programs that help them accomplish their goals, simplify applying to, enrolling in, and completing their goals, while working with academic units to deliver courses using the best technology, teaching methods and content for that course. Students who choose not to come to campus almost always have unique work and family situations that require geographic and time flexibility. With our knowledge of these needs and the new delivery vehicles for high quality distance education, OnlinePlus exists only to make it easy for our online and distance students.
