MGT 676 - Service and Production Operations

Examine the elements of operations management and how operations integrate into the supply chain. Manufacturing and service ops deliver value-added goods and services for the company and comprise the bulk of a firm’s investment, personnel and resource use. Learn about ops strategies and tactics to efficiently/effectively manage global operations and deliver value to customers and the firm.

Prerequisite

Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate (GR) OR Professional (PR)

Paul Vanderspek earned his M.B.A. in operations, management from Purdue University and is a clinical professor in the management department at Colorado State University. He has worked in materials management professionally for over 10 years with high-tech electronics manufacturers. He has earned two professional certifications in supply chain and operations management. Vanderspek teaches supply chain management courses to both undergraduate and graduate students and focuses his teaching in the upper-level course on supply management. He is active in Northern Colorado APICS (the operations management society) and consults with small businesses on supply chain management and compensation incentives to achieve their supply chain goals.
