ECE 514 - Applications of Random Processes

  • 3 credits

Bit-error rates, signal-to-noise power ratios, signal detection, signal estimation, Wiener filters, and applications of these concepts in electrical and computer engineering.

Prerequisite

ECE 303 (Introduction to Communications Principles (with a minimum grade of C)); Linear System Analysis II (with a minimum grade of C)

Edwin K. P. Chong received his B.E.(Hons.) from the University of Adelaide, South Australia, in Electrical and Electronic Engineering; and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Princeton University where he held an IBM Graduate Fellowship. He was a professor at Purdue University in the 1990s. Currently, he is a Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a Professor in the Department of Mathematics, at Colorado State University. Professor Chong's research interests are primarily in the areas of control, optimization, and stochastics, with a wide variety of applications.
