Archaeology of the Ancient Mediterranean (specifically Greek and Roman) World as related to race and ethnicity. Examination of how some ancients created their own ethnographical identities and thought through conceptions of ancient races/peoples, and how this world has been appropriated by western European countries, been used as an emblem of whiteness, and served as a pretext for justifying racism today.
