Next Steps for Admitted Undergraduate Students

New Student Orientation

Create an eID & University Email Account

Your electronic identity (eID) is the username and password required to access RAMweb (student records) and Canvas (learning management system).

You will need your nine-digit CSUID to create your eID. Contact the CSU Online Student Success Team if you don't remember your CSUID.

Create your eID

When you create your eID, you will also create your university email account. All communications from CSU will be sent to this address. Check your university email account often or forward your email to a preferred account.

Forgot your eID?

Go to RAMweb and click "I forgot my Username and/or Password."

Confirm Your Decision to Attend CSU

  • Log in to RAMweb by using your eID
  • Select "Check your Application Status"
  • Go to "Tell Us Your Plans"
  • Accept your offer of admission

Review Your Official Transfer Credit Evaluation

The Registrar's Office will email you when your transfer credit evaluation is complete. You can view your evaluation in RAMweb.

Allow 30 business days from the date that you were admitted for your transcript to be evaluated; international transcripts may take slightly longer.

Schedule Advising

After your transfer credit evaluation is complete, you must contact your academic advisor. At your appointment, your advisor will discuss your transfer credit evaluation, your academic path, and the timeframe for completing your degree.

Visit our website to find the advisor for your major.

Check Your Math and Composition Placement

Math Placement

If you do not have applicable math transfer credit from another institution, you will need to complete the online Mathematics Placement Exam (MPE).

Composition Placement

CSU determines your composition placement using your ACT/SAT test scores and/or your applicable composition transfer credit.

Visit the CSU Composition Placement Program website for more information, including eligibility for challenging or re-evaluating your placement.

Register for Courses

Once you and your advisor have developed a course plan, review our step-by-step registration instructions for registering on the CSU Online website.

Purchase Textbooks

Required textbooks and other course materials are listed on the corresponding course page. You may also locate and purchase these materials online through the CSU Bookstore website.

Submit a Final, Official Transcript

Your admission is provisional until we receive a final, official transcript reflecting satisfactory completion of any coursework in progress (if applicable).

You may experience delays with financial aid or with registering for courses if you have not submitted your final transcripts.

Complete Required Training

CSU is committed to providing an informed and safe community for all students, regardless of where they live and study. To that end, all new students are required to complete Haven: Understanding Sexual Assault, an online course developed by the CSU Health Network.

Part one of the course is available to all newly admitted students and takes approximately one hour to complete. You must complete all modules by the first day of classes, or a hold will be placed on your account that will restrict your ability to register for future semesters.

To start the course, log in to RAMweb and click "AlcoholEdu/Haven: Sexual Assault Prevention" under the "Tools" heading.

Learn more about the Haven: Sexual Assault Prevention course on the CSU Health Network website.

Know Your Options, Rights, and Responsibilities

The CSU General Catalog contains information about student rights, responsibilities, and University policies and procedures. Reviewing the table of contents will help you to become familiar with the information the catalog contains.

Check out additional resources for information about tuition and billing, accessing courses, and for more important CSU policies and procedures.
