Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant became the standard bearers for their respective sides during the Civil War. Each was an accomplished leader and a skillful general. Nevertheless, there was a contrast between their military styles, their lifestyles, and their enduring reputations.

Henry Weisser was a professor of history at Colorado State University for 39 years and is now a professor emeritus. He earned a Ph.D. from Columbia University. He has visited many World War II sites over the years and previously taught World War II history at CSU
