This session focuses on an exhibition at the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art at CSU, Pompeii Archive, which features recent work by American photographer William Wylie exploring the archeological site of Pompeii in highly evocative images. This exhibition features eighteen large-scale photographs focused on the ongoing process of restoration and discovery of remains and materials from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 C.E.

Lynn Boland is director and chief curator of the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art. With a doctoral in art history from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in 20th-century art, he has received awards from the College Art Association, the Art Libraries Society, and the American Alliance of Museums.
