This lecture will discuss the evolution of water system development and early firefighting technology in Fort Collins. Additionally, we will take a look at the historical importance of water in Northern Colorado. Finally, the presentation will touch on advancements in firefighting technology.

: Dick Spiess is a retired Captain serving 28 years at Poudre Fire Authority in Fort Collins. Dick has been an instructor in Wildland Urban Interface at the National Fire Academy and served for five years on a Type I National Incident Management Team.
