"Aging in Community" has become an increasingly important focus in discussions about aging. Deciding if or how to age in your community requires a multitude of considerations and familiarity with community resources.
Panel members experienced with care management, aging resources, and senior health issues will present aspects of how to start conversations with family, how to find resources, and how to move through the decision-making process. Creative housing options and a broad array of community resources to help stay at home (such as meals, maintenance services, and care management guidance) will be presented. More complex options such as adult day services, home caregivers, and care communities including assisted living will be reviewed. Aspects of financial considerations and caregiver challenges will be addressed.
Participants will have an opportunity to discuss their concerns and experiences with finding and accessing resources for the changes related to aging.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
