OSHR 3115 - A Look at CSU’s Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising (Perk Series Tour)

  • Noncredit

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

The Avenir Museum is CSU’s renowned collection of some 20,000 historically and culturally significant artifacts of dress and textiles, serving as a tremendous hands-on experiential research and teaching resource for students and scholars at CSU and beyond.

The Avenir Museum has just completed a large expansion and renovation project in 2014-15 at the University Center for the Arts. Join us behind-the-scenes to visit fascinating collection areas not ordinarily open to the public, as well as galleries featuring the inaugural exhibitions on quilting, couture fashion, and both traditional and contemporary Guatemalan textiles. That walk-in closet you’ll get to see? It’s big.

Please note that this tour involves walking and standing - there is no seating in the behind-the-scenes areas.

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
