OSHR 3108 - Breaking the Last Taboo: Death (Perk Series Lecture)

  • Noncredit

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

Death is not the opposite of Life. It is the opposite of Birth. Both birth and death are universal life experiences. However, we don't plan for, prepare for, or even talk about death and the process of dying. This perk addresses: the physiology of dying; the psychological aspects of death/dying; the practical preparations for the inevitability of dying; the differences between bereavement and personally dying. Talking about death and dying is breaking "the last taboo" and challenges the "denial of death."

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
