This blend of lecture and audience-input style workshop will provide intercultural communication "tools" for use when engaging diverse audiences in everyday life as well as when traveling around the globe. Discussions of such constructs and models as ethnocentrism, culture shock/re-entry shock, dialectical cultural tensions, and conflict types and styles as well as sharing research on acculturation and adaptation from generational perspectives will provide insights into constructing an intercultural attitude and practice, a toolbox, for those who regularly engage and/or are planning to engage diverse local and global audiences.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
