What is Big Pharma? What marketing strategies does Big Pharma employ to influence you and your physician on the selection of medications? In medicine, what constitutes a conflict of interest? As a patient, how can you empower yourself to talk to your doctor to be informed about the effectiveness, side effects, and costs of the medication your physician wants to prescribe?
This lecture will review a set of communication skills that will help a patient learn how to develop a good working relationship with their physician when medication is recommended as a part of the treatment plan.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
