Have you ever had an acquaintance or a family member end up in a controlling/abusive relationship? Have you felt helpless in knowing how to be supportive or how to direct a victim to find safety and care? Have you wondered why victims remain in abusive relationships given the resources now available in communities?
This presentation will cover the following topics: What is partner abuse, how common is it, who are the abusers, and what tactics do they use to gain control; how do abusers identify and select their victims; how does the abuse affect victims; what is elder abuse; what resources are available for the safety and well-being of abuse victims?
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
