Joseph Wood Krutch wrote The Twelve Seasons as if each month were a season unto itself. This novel calendar well describes Colorado wildlife. You know about mountain wildflowers blooming in July and about elk bugling in October, but do you know when and where 20,000 sandhill cranes gather and where most of the world’s brown-capped rosy-finches congregate? Have you seen a kokanee salmon run after they have turned from silver to red?
This class will tell you when and where to experience such wildlife spectacles, including where you can stand in the wise presence of a 2,000-year-old tree to ponder what experience will be next.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
