This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

Unlike the imaginary cooties you joked about as a little kid, real cooties affected the outcomes of wars and the severity of an infamous famine.

But who today knows what a real cootie is and what its consequences can be? Many wildlife species insinuate themselves into our lives and make pests of themselves simply by living their own lives. Bats in the attic and fungus gnats in the potted plants; mildew in the bathtub and camel crickets in the basement; dandelions in the lawn and starlings at the birdfeeder: the world is full of life that we often wish would live somewhere else.

"The Unloved" will explore the stories behind a diversity of wildlife that drives us crazy in one way or another.

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
