This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.
Ever stood streamside and wondered why the fish were not interested in your fly? Ever been discouraged by the dizzying array of fly patterns in your local fly shop? Then this class is for you.
You will be introduced to the materials, tools, and techniques involved in tying flies for trout and a few other fish. You will become familiar with fundamental techniques used to tie hundreds of fly patterns. If you are interested in fly tying and fly fishing, then this class will provide a starting point from which to begin an enjoyable and satisfying hobby.
Participants will need to purchase their own tools for the class (list provided upon registration or call 491-7753). Additional fee of $25 is payable to the instructor on the first night of class for fly tying materials (hooks, thread, furs, and feathers).
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
