This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.
This short course will present information on the wildlife and natural history of Colorado for the month of September.
Summer surrenders to autumn this month, and no time of the year teems with more numbers of creatures. Young of the year are maturing, and everything seems restless. Elk bugle from the mountain meadows as sandhill cranes bugle from the sky. Plovers and sandpipers, gulls and terns - some of them from beyond the Arctic Circle - wander through.
Specific information about what to look for, where to look for it, how to find it, and when to explore will be discussed. Details about locations, access including fees, length of walks or hikes, roadside viewing, and available services will be covered. Learn what’s out there so you can plan into your own schedule when to pursue what specifically interests you.
