This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

Becoming successful in value shading is rewarding for anyone who wants to achieve the illusion of three-dimension in a drawing. Learn how to transition from light to dark in a drawing. You will also use a variety of drawing techniques and tools such as conte-crayon, china markers, graphite sticks and charcoal. Home practice exercises, demonstrations and Internet sites will be presented each week to reinforce lessons.

Do you have some basic drawing skills? Then this class is for you. It is not for an absolute beginner, but it can be an ideal follow-up after learning basic drawing skills. Also, this is a good refresher on value studies for anyone who enjoys drawing.
