Did you know that eastern Colorado is home to more than 500 species of wildflowers? Come get to know a few of our native plants "up close and personal" by creating a series of small botanical illustrations in watercolor.
The course begins in the classroom where participants will learn the glazing technique favored by many scientific illustrators. This technique allows the artist to create a striking three-dimensional effect by carefully applying layers of watercolor. After studying this technique, we will practice our craft by taking the "show on the road" with a field trip, weather permitting, where we will have the opportunity to collect a few specimens and paint them on sight.
Pack a lunch and be prepared to enjoy our wonderful Colorado flora and fauna!
