OSHR 1614 - Our Amazing Universe - What is, Was and Can be

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

This course will highlight those strange beasts that continually astound the bystander. It will include with a wealth of topics, from the strange planets of Trappist-1 and our own solar system, to the fascinating world of Higgs Bosons, Sonoluminescence, and time dilation...not to mention Special General and Slightly Weird Relativity.

These wonders of extreme left-brain science will be presented by someone with a brain slightly right of center. And if you ever wanted to visit the planet Saturn, this really is the perfect course for you.

Dan Ward

Dan S. Ward, has a Bachelor of Engineering Science and a Ph.D., in Nuclear Physics. He has taught science and engineering at Colorado State University and the University of Texas, and currently teaches geopolitics, ancient and classical history, mythology, and astronomy at Osher.
