OSHR 1465 - How Culture and History Influence Music: A Broad-Brushed Perspective

  • Noncredit
  • Fort Collins

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

Join us as we take a quick walk down four decades of "snapshot memories" (from 1900-1939). You will learn how different musical pieces mirror key elements of the time in which they were written.

Participants will be reminded of songs that reflect such influencing factors as political issues (e.g., women’s rights), hardships of war, the great depression, leisure time pursuits, and much more.

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
