OSHR 1373 - New Landscapes, New Eyes: Poetry & Discovery

  • Noncredit

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

Marcel Proust wrote:"The only true voyage of discovery [...] would be not to visit strange lands but to possess other eyes, to behold the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others" . In this class, we will explore how curiosity and keen observation can gift us "new eyes" when writing poetry, and how reading others’ poetry can bring us closer to compassion, empathy, and self-discovery.

Through guided writing exercises, readings, and discussions, we’ll endeavor to learn more about ourselves, others, and the world through poetry. New writers are welcome.

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
