This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.
In Walden, Henry David Thoreau wrote,"I love a broad margin to my life." And often in our physical books, we jot passionate notes and reactions to what we read - in the margins. This course works with both ideas of margins - finding spacious time to be and write - and bringing our deepest selves into our words. For delight, we’ll write in some actual page margins.
Participants are encouraged to write poetry, creative nonfiction (including memoir), and fiction. Each week we’ll write during class and consider effective pieces of writing. For this class, each week’s writing prompts will point to exploring your experience in both prose and poetry. But you’re always invited to pursue writing you already have in mind or in motion.
New writers are welcome.
