This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.
Emily Dickinson wrote, "To live is so startling it leaves little time for anything else. But now we want to marvel, ponder, and record. How can we capture our experience and embody our world in all its brights and darks, colors, and textures? How can we listen closely for stories whose words often come to us first as if over water, piercing and partial?
Participants are encouraged to write poetry, nonfiction (with some focus on memoir), and fiction. Each week, you’ll write during class and consider effective pieces of writing. For this class, each week’s writing prompts will point to explorations in both prose and poetry. But you’re always invited to pursue writing you already have in mind or in motion.
New writers welcome.
