OSHR 1312 - Life Skills

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

This class is for anyone who is striving for a happy and fulfilling life but continues to confront roadblocks that are getting in the way of their aspirations. This is an interactive and collaborative class where participants will be encouraged to share their experiences so we may learn from each other.

Exercises and activities will be provided along with group discussions. This course is designed to teach participants seven fundamental life management skills that will empower them to trust and have confidence in their decisions enabling them to create and embrace their own authentic life.

The skills to be taught are self-esteem building, stress and anger management, feeling identification, communication and conflict resolution skills, as well as cognitive reframing.

Laura Garrett is a licensed professional counselor and has been in the counseling profession for over 26 years. She is a life transition coach and author of two self-help books. Ms. Garrett works efficiently in helping clients identify their fears and the roadblocks that get in the way of living a happy and fulfilling life.
