OSHR 1184 - The U.S. History Class You Wish You Had Paid Attention To In High School

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

So many adults wish that they had paid closer attention in their U.S. history classes, that they remembered more of what was covered or that they could have taken a history class that covered the time since they graduated.

This class will review the major themes, events, and characters that led up to some of the events that are happening today, putting them in context. There will be no discussion of tariffs or Millard Fillmore.

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.


Sally Purath

: Sally Purath earned a B.A. in social sciences and a M.Ed. at Colorado State University. She taught history, world humanities, and language arts for 26 years in the Poudre School District, including the International Baccalaureate Program: Theory of Knowledge for nine years, and has led National Endowment for the Humanities institutes and other teacher workshops.
