OSHR 1173 - History and Current Understanding of Gender Bias

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

This class will review the history of gender bias around the world and determine some clear definitions of gender bias. The course will survey the current status of gender bias in various societies and discuss some possible solutions for advancing this persistent and important issue. The format of the class will involve readings from multiple articles, some lecture notes and guest presenters from our local community.

Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.

Instructors

Fred Fuller

Fred Fuller, M.A., L.M.F.T., had a marriage and family counseling practice in Fort Collins for many years, is a graduate of Denver Seminary and an ordained minister. He has a career-long interest in this subject and deeply believes in the value of embracing all challenging ideas as a rich path to understanding and meaning. For him, teaching is a rewarding tool for communicating this value.
