Conscience, credo, consensus, compromise? What drove the decisions that our founding fathers institutionalized in our earliest documents?

This course examines the philosophical roots of the founding of America by studying the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, with an emphasis on the problems encountered by the Founding Fathers and their solutions. As we will see, many of these issues still resonate today.
