It has been almost 2000 years since Mount Vesuvius erupted and destroyed the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, buried it in ash and left perfectly preserved artifacts until discovered in the mid-1700s. Daily life in Pompeii is depicted in the artifacts, including a dozen body casts of volcanic victims.
