History indicates that all powerful nations reach a zenith, and then decline, to eventually be replaced by rising powers. Off and on for years, pundits and politicians have opined that the US is in such a decline. Some have suggested that while the 20th Century was the "American Century," the 21st century will be called the "Chinese Century."
Others point out that the US is the world’s only superpower, and thus the world’s indispensable nation, and so US exceptionalism continues. Political, economic, military, and cultural evidence for both perspectives will be presented for you to evaluate.
