OSHR 1127 - The Victorian Era

This course is offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. You must be a member of Osher to enroll in this course.

This course will cover the British Empire as it reached the height of its power and glory during the reign of Queen Victoria, 1837-1901. The background of the political and economic revolutions leading up to this apogee will be discussed as well.

Readings: Any 19th century novels, biographies, or memoirs.

Henry Weisser

Henry Weisser was a professor of history at Colorado State University for 39 years and is now a professor emeritus. He earned a Ph.D. from Columbia University. He has made many trips to Britain and lived there for a time.
