The "new deal" is usually associated with Franklin D. Roosevelt in the United States. However, there were two other nations also experiencing similar economic difficulties that developed what might be called "new deal" : the Soviet Union and Germany. Each produced a strong, aggressive leader, Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin; and each solved its problems in unique ways. This course will compare these three nations and their methods for solving their problems with new deals.
