Do you want a better understanding of the technical news and issues currently in the headlines? In each session, we will review and discuss two or more articles selected from those appearing in the science section of the New York Times. Additional science news sources and topics will also be presented for discussion from time-to-time. Join us as we clarify science to enhance a layperson’s appreciation of the news and its implications.
The technical subjects will be wide-ranging. For example, recent topics in the Science Times have included the environment, the cosmos, genetic mapping, black holes, dolphins, memory and many more. Note that this is a round¬table discussion, and not a lecture course
A background in science and technology is welcomed, but not required.
Readings: New York Times - Tuesday Edition, Science insert. Available in various locations.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
