NRRT 509 - Science Education in Informal Settings-Informal Science Teaching Techniques in the Field

This course will introduce students to the principles and techniques of teaching science in informal learning settings. Content will include: an introduction to field instruction and student management practices, using ecological field research as an educational tool, learning and teaching naturalist skills, age appropriate outdoor instruction, safety practices, using the environment as an integrating context for learning, and using place-based learning models.

Prerequisite

One course in biological or physical science.
