MECH 537 - Processing of Polymer Composites

Basic principles of the processing science of polymer composites, physical and chemical phenomena that occur during manufacturing processes, and solutions to address issues that arise.

Prerequisite

CIVE 360 (Mechanics of Solids) or MECH 331A (Introduction to Engineering Materials: Lecture MECH 331 or MECH 331B)

Instructors

Dr. Yourdkhani is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and a core faculty member of the School of Advanced Materials Discovery at Colorado State University (CSU). Prior to joining CSU, he was a postdoctoral research associate at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology and a lecturer in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University in the area of polymer nanocomposites and composite materials. His research interests include advanced manufacturing of composites, additive manufacturing of polymers, multifunctional materials, bioinspired material design, and polymer nanocomposites.
