Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.

Randy Callahan

Randy Callahan started his fire career in 1979. He has diverse experiences which include volunteer, industrial, combination, and career fire departments. Originally from Michigan, Randy spent twenty-three years at Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) in Fort Collins, Colorado. During his time at PFA, he served as a firefighter, driver/operator, captain, and shift battalion chief. He retired as PFA’s Training Chief in 2017 where he was responsible for training, education, and certification programs for PFA employees.

With a commitment to lifelong learning, Randy has earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Studies from California State University – Long Beach (2009), a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University – Global Campus (2013), and a Chief Fire Officer Credential – Center for Public Safety Excellence (2016).

Since his retirement from PFA, Randy has served as Interim Fire Chief for Boulder Rural Fire Rescue, next to Boulder Colorado, and as Interim Fire Chief for Colorado River Fire Rescue on the western slope of Colorado. In each of these roles, Randy assisted in finding permanent fire chiefs for the respective agency.
