Cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies, design approaches, and terminology. Incorporation of cybersecurity principles into effective systems designs. This course is directed to System Engineers and other technical personnel with a need to understand cybersecurity in order to integrate it into a balanced system design.
Students registering for the 702 section are expected to attend the class in person at United Launch Alliance, 7630 S Chester Street in Centennial CO (South Denver) unless other arrangements are made with the instructor. The online section can be accessed synchronously or asynchronously. Synchronous means you can log on live and participate in the class as it is occurring on campus, but participation in this format is not mandatory. Asynchronous means you can access the video recording of the class sessions whenever it is convenient for you.
Credit may not be earned for both ENGR 569 and ENGR 580A4.

Dr. Simske is an HP Fellow and a previous Director in HP Labs. As of September 2016, he is the author of more than 400 publications and roughly 140 US patents (many more worldwide). He is an IS&T Fellow and an honorary professor at the University of Nottingham. Dr. Simske has been a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Councils since 2010, including Illicit Trade, Illicit Economy and the Future of Electronics. At HP, he directed teams in research on 3D printing, education, life sciences, sensing, authentication, packaging, imaging and manufacturing. His book “Meta-Algorithmics” addresses intelligent systems. He is currently co-authoring books on Industrial Inkjet Printing and Meta-Analytics.
