Course Descriptions
Classes combine lecture, group activity, role-play, reflection, and other cutting-edge instructional approaches that stimulate interaction and create a learning environment enhanced by the faculty and student's professional experiences.
EDCO 500 – Career and Employment Concepts (3 cr.)
Examines career planning as an individual and organizational change strategy. First-hand use of assessment tools, feedback, and strengths-based development models provide insight to enhance performance.
EDOD 506 – Human Resource Development (3 cr.)
A study of modern practice human resource development from a perspective of its history, philosophy, principles, application and literature. Special attention will be placed on the three domains of HRD: organizational learning, performance and change.
ED0D 674 – Analysis in Organizations (3 cr.)
This course examines the basics of problem analysis in organizations. Data collection, analysis, and synthesis are featured as key change agent skills, and this course sets the foundation for any organizational improvement effort.
ED0D 673 – Organizational Intervention Strategies (3 cr.)
This course delivers the skills needed to design, develop, and deliver a variety of interventions in the workplace. Learning strategies, workshop design, and other considerations for creating programs are covered. Particular emphasis is on a systems approach that is used to tie interventions to a need uncovered in organizational analysis, and set up the intervention for clear and concise assessment.
EDRM 666 – Program Evaluation (3 cr.)
This course gives you the knowledge and skills to assess the effectiveness of any workplace learning and performance program. Focusing on assessing performance, learning, and satisfaction outcomes, students gain the skills to determine precisely how their programs add value.
EDOD 670 – Strategic Human Resource Development (3 cr.)
Examines the latest theoretical and practical insights on the strategic role of human resource development in organizations, including how to promote a culture of continuous learning, improving organizational effectiveness and instigating change.
For recent OPC graduate Ryan Ross, the excellent faculty and support staff made the program what it was. The faculty not only taught the material, but it was apparent to Ryan that they had actually experienced what they were teaching.

EDOD 692 – Seminar in Human Resource Development (Overview of Organizational Performance and Change) (3 cr.)
A study of modern practice of organizational performance and change management from a perspective of its history, philosophy, principles, application and literature. Special attention is placed on how to choose interventions within domains of Organizational Performance and Change practice.
ED0D 672 – Change Facilitation (3 cr.)
Examine the roles and responsibilities of change agents and the fundamentals of change: principles, practices, processes, and resistance strategies. Emphasis is placed on developing facilitation skills for supporting change processes in organizations.
EDOD 671 – Performance Consulting and Causal Analysis (3 cr.)
Examines performance analysis and causal analysis, roles and responsibilities of performance consultants and performance consulting processes. Featured as a seminar, this course guides students through the basics of consulting projects, whether internal or external.
EDRM 602 – Action Research (3 cr.)
Examines the fundamentals of practical action research, utilizing proven data-gathering methods and tools including interviews, surveys and focus groups.
EDRM 698 – Research (3 cr.)
Students complete a case-study project that brings together all facets of a strategic organizational analysis including intervention strategies and recommendations.

You will earn the same regionally-accredited Colorado State University degree that a student on the Fort Collins campus is awarded. Your diploma and transcript are identical to those awarded to on-campus students.
