Degree Requirements and Curriculum
Requirements
This degree requires:
- 33 credits, selected with the guidance of an academic adviser.
- Completion of a professional paper (no thesis is required).
- Minimum of one, preferably two, internships arranged and approved by your academic adviser.
Curriculum
The Integrated Resource Management graduate degree program allows you to take the 11 required courses in the order that best suits your educational and professional needs. All online courses combine the same rigorous training as campus courses with directed hands-on, problem-solving experiences that apply to real-life land management scenarios.
This program teaches the professionals in agriculture, government, and natural resources to:
- Manage rangeland and animal production for both long-term profitability and sustainability.
- Apply an integrated approach to successfully manage the needs and interests of multiple stakeholders.

- AGRI 631 – Building the Business (3 cr.)
- AGRI 632 – Managing for Ecosystem Sustainability (3 cr.)
- AGRI 633 – Understanding and Managing Animal Resources (3 cr.)
- AGRI 634 – Animal Production Systems (3 cr.)
- AGRI 635 – Integrated Forage Management (3 cr.)
- AGRI 636 – Analyzing and Managing the Business (3 cr.)

Prospective and current land managers such as ranch managers, wildlife and forest managers, extension agents, employees of government agencies, and recent graduates of undergraduate programs.
What you will earn
You will earn the same regionally-accredited Colorado State University degree that a student on the Fort Collins campus is awarded. Your diploma and transcript are identical to those awarded to on-campus students.
