You will be prepared to be a superintendent, principal, or another leadership position in education with skills to direct educational programs, become a facilitator of educational change, and implement new approaches to solving the problems confronting education. After completing the program, you can also be ready to meet the growing needs of schools for highly qualified teachings, including those in high-demand areas such as science, technology, engineering, and math.

Degree at a Glance

Location

Thompson School District in Loveland, CO. On-campus attendance is required to complete this program.

Total credits

– 24 credits for the principal licensure (This option is only for those who have previously earned a master's degree.)
– 33 credits for the M.Ed. and principal licensure

Tuition/fees

$459 per credit (financial aid available)

Time frame

Program can be completed in one year. Summer courses are required to complete this program. As a cohort program, the same group of students begins, proceeds through, and completes the program together.

Designed for

This program is designed for two different audiences:

Individuals who have a master's degree and are only seeking a principal license.
OR
Individuals seeking a master's degree in Educational Leadership, Renewal, and Change as well as a principal license.

What you will earn

You will earn the same regionally-accredited Colorado State University degree that a student on the Fort Collins campus is awarded. Your diploma and transcript are identical to those awarded to on-campus students.
