Adult Education and Training (AET)

Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Education and Human Resource Studies

Adult Education and Training (M.Ed.)

How to Apply

The Master of Education degree is housed in the School of Education at Colorado State University. Faculty in the Adult Education and Training (AET) are practitioners of adult education and experts in the field of adult learning, teaching, instructional design, assessment, evaluation, and learning transfer. We look forward to exploring adult education and training with you.

We encourage you to begin your application process well in advance of the application deadline by contacting one of the Adult Education and Training program faculty to discuss your educational goals and to ensure that this program is right for you.

Minimum Admission Requirements

The Adult Education and Training (M.Ed.) degree requires applicants to have the following:

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution.
  • Applicants with a GPA between 2.7 and 3.0 must have five years of relevant work experience.
  • Applicants with a GPA lower than 2.7 are required to take two courses prior to admission.
  • GRE scores are not required.

Note that meeting the minimum department standards does not ensure admission to the program. Admission to Colorado State University graduate programs is based on a number of factors, including prior academic and professional experience and the personal statement.

Before your application for graduate study is considered, all application materials must be received by the department.

Speak with an AET Faculty Member

If you have questions about the fit of the program, the faculty in the School of Education are happy to take the time to get to know you, explore your professional background, and identify your educational goals through phone calls and emails. This allows advisers to provide you with the most up-to-date program information and assist you in determining if this program will meet your career needs.

Application Deadline

Students may be admitted for fall semester. March 1 is the only application deadline for admission into the Adult Education and Training program through CSU OnlinePlus. That said, we encourage you to get your materials in as soon as possible for two reasons. First, we review applications as they are received. If reviewed positively, this ensures your spot in the program. Second, if you need to meet any additional requirements, such as a low undergraduate GPA, we can work with you in a timely fashion to meet these requirements.
