Are you an avid outdoorsman...or woman? Join us for a field trip to the Pawnee Grasslands to learn about this national jewel located just outside Larimer County’s door.
Discover birds and animals that call this area home, and enjoy an overview of the ecology and topography of the area. The field trip will also cover a bit of history about how the grasslands became a protected area of the National Forest Service.
The Grasslands are just an hour and a half bus trip due east from Fort Collins. Upon arrival, we will make occasional stops to explore various sites, but will appreciate the Buttes from a distance as it will be nesting season. Depending on availability of a Forest Service volunteer, a 1.5 mile hike will be available for those who’d like to venture out on foot.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
